In addition to some theoretical knowledge, this workshop primarily teaches the practical ability to design good models and to proceed in a structured manner.
Model-based testing (MBT) is a proven practice for achieving high test coverage with low effort. This is achieved by generating a large number of concrete test cases from individual test models - as manual test case specifications and/or automated tests in any implementation language.
MBT shifts error-prone, schematic activities from humans to the computer. This significantly reduces effort and time, but almost more importantly, it ensures the consistency of the test artifacts because they originate from a single source. These advantages are particularly noticeable in projects with many variants and/or changes. But of course the success of MBT depends very much on the quality of the modeling.
The workshop “Practical Modeling - Basic” teaches not only some theoretical knowledge, but above all the practical ability to design good models and to proceed in a structured manner. Participants will learn how to create test models and generate test artifacts using the modeling tool Enterprise Architect and sepp.med\'s own test case generator MBTsuite, but what they learn can also be applied in other environments.
Basic knowledge in the field of software testing should be available, previous experience with MBTsuite or Enterprise Architect is not necessary.
