SeSo, a comprehensive web portal from a medical device manufacturer, is revolutionizing the technical monitoring of medical devices by centralizing all relevant information on a single platform. This enables real-time analysis and visualization of system architecture, log errors, and component status, allowing maintenance work to be prepared efficiently and in a targeted manner. The latest modernization of SeSo focused on redesigning the front end with Angular, optimizing backend queries and database maintenance, and revising and automating the testing process. Outstanding measures included upgrading to Angular version 16 and implementing new security features. These improvements significantly increase the maintainability and security of the system and enable maintenance personnel to quickly obtain the information necessary for efficient maintenance work.
During the modernization of the SeSo Health Status web app, we encountered exciting tasks that took us all out of our comfort zone. Even the most experienced teams encounter challenges when dealing with new technologies and development environments. Configuring a main application, improving historically grown source code, and ensuring code quality are just a few examples. Added to this are full databases that require careful recovery and the need for effective team communication.
The lack of system requirements and the constantly changing states of the test systems demand flexibility and adaptability on our part.
