We invite you to the next edition of the Afterwork Exchange. Three times a year, decision-makers and experts come together to discuss current trends in AI and software development. Compact, practice-oriented, with plenty of room for networking and open dialogue on equal terms.
This time, we turn our attention to software development itself. Generative AI is reshaping how software is built, which skills matter, and how responsibility is distributed.
In four sessions, we will explore new roles in engineering teams, the education of the next generation, hands-on vibe coding, and the question of how AI can be deployed securely and productively in enterprise environments.
The evening is aimed at decision-makers and experts: strategic perspectives meet technical expertise. Afterwards, we invite you to a get-together and dinner for good conversations, new contacts, and fresh ideas after work.

Within just a few months, generative AI has evolved from assisting with individual lines of code to handling entire components. For engineering teams, this raises a fundamental question: what remains a human task, and where does AI scale? Tom Jachmann is responsible for the software platform of Siemens Healthineers’ modern computed tomography (CT) systems. Drawing on safety-critical development, he shows how AI is increasing speed and quality, particularly in the modernisation of legacy software, and why the greatest leverage lies in the interplay between human expertise and AI-driven scalability.
When AI becomes a standard tool, the demands placed on education change as well. Prof. Dr. Christoph Neumann from OTH Amberg-Weiden shares insights from several years of teaching practice: prompt-based exercises, project work in cloud computing and big data, and an assessment model that makes productive AI use a learning objective. His thesis: what counts is no longer the mere execution of tasks, but the ability to orchestrate AI systems with purpose. A thought-provoking session for anyone who wants to know what skills the next generation of developers will bring.
This session gets hands-on. In a live demonstration, working software is built from prompts, step by step and in real time. You will see what is actually possible with today's tools, where the limits lie, and what it takes to turn fast code into reliable software. It is precisely at this point, the quality of AI-generated code, where things get particularly interesting for regulated and safety-critical projects.
AI is finding its way into processes, products, and code. With the new possibilities come growing questions about accountability, safety, and operations, not least due to the EU AI Act. Florian Prester shows how companies can establish guardrails, manage risks, and promote innovation and productivity at the same time. The session covers roles and processes, monitoring and quality assurance, and the journey from a first pilot to reliable production deployment. Governance that makes safe and sustainable AI adoption possible in the first place.
