Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing how software is developed, tested, and secured. At the same time, requirements for cybersecurity and functional safety are growing, and over-the-air updates raise new questions about how to demonstrate quality across the entire product lifecycle. The 24th Cluster Meeting, “Software Quality in the Age of AI,” is dedicated to precisely these developments. Our Braunschweig site manager, Guido Werner, is hosting the event in collaboration with the ASQF Software Testing Specialist Group of Lower Saxony, the ITS mobility cluster, as well as FEV etamax and Teqyard.
On September 8, 2026, professionals and managers from development, testing, quality assurance, systems engineering, cybersecurity, safety, and product management will meet at the TRAFO Hub to discuss practical answers to these questions. In three compact talks, experts from classic IT, automotive, rail, medical technology, and industry will cover topics including:
One of the three keynote talks comes from sepp.med: Torsten Herbert, team lead at sepp.med and a trainer for, among others, the ASQF Certified Tester program, will speak on “AI in Testing: Between the Racetrack and the Cockpit” about the double-edged AI question in software testing: testing AI versus testing with AI. He shows why traceability is evolving from a single line to an entire web of evidence, how evidence can stay comprehensible even in regulated environments, and why a second AI model does not replace independent verification. His conclusion: Context before prompt. Guardrails before autonomy. Responsibility stays with people.

sepp.med has been developing and testing software for safety-critical industries such as automotive and medical technology for over 40 years. This experience has taught us how demanding it is to secure AI systems in line with standards and to adapt testing processes to new technologies. As a co-host, we bring this expertise into the professional exchange at the Cluster Meeting.
